Our Story

Six Red Marbles is America’s largest US-based development house for learning materials. We’re dedicated to bringing the power of natural learning to every classroom, pre-K through adult.

We were founded in 1996 as a small company with a big mission: to create groundbreaking learning software for kids K-12. Soon we were entrusted with hundreds of projects for major publishing clients like McGraw-Hill, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and Pearson.

As our success grew, so did our ambitions. We saw students falling behind and disengaged from learning. We decided to research how kids’ brains learn, partner with our clients more creatively whenever possible, and develop our own solutions. We identified our Six Core Principles.

In 2008, we acquired Monotype, the design and print expert with a 90-year history. In 2011, we merged with Brown Publishing Network, the reading and language arts leader founded in 1983. Our like minds became a shared commitment—to make learning more intuitive, engaging and natural again.

Today, Six Red Marbles continues to help major publishers design and produce top-notch materials. We’re also a creative force for change, developing proprietary software based on our own natural learning principles.

Our work is our passion and our reward. Fun ideas, serious learning.
