Interviewer: What is your name?
Marble: Jocelyn Wright
Interviewer: What is your position at Six Red Marbles?
Marble: Learning Experience Design Manager
Interviewer: What does that position entail?
Marble: I manage a team of instructional designers and the projects that they work on. My days generally involve meeting with my direct reports to talk about their growth, supporting project teams on the work we do with our clients, and collaborating with sales to bring in more work for our team.
Interviewer: How did you become a part of Six Red Marbles?
Marble: I got into instructional design through higher education – as I was wrapping up my PhD and reflecting on what I wanted to do next, I found creating courses and learning new things were the parts of my program that I found the most satisfying. I realized that a career in instructional design was a great opportunity to do these things every day. I came to Six Red Marbles a couple of years into my career as an instructional designer.
Interviewer: What is the best part of your job?
Marble: I love being part of a team of people with unique passions and a great sense of humor. I learn so much from my team! I’m especially thankful for colleagues who all work so hard and are so committed to the success of the company.
Interviewer: What do you wish people knew about your work at Six Red Marbles?
Marble: I wish they knew how truly awesome my team is to work with, and the many versatile skills that we bring to the table. Our current clients often become repeat customers after seeing the many ways that our IDs can help them – and I would love for more people to have that experience!
Interviewer: What is a trend you see happening in the education space that you’re excited about?
Marble: I’m very inspired by how California is using their large market share in the educational space to push for greater attention to diversity, equity, and inclusion in educational materials.
Interviewer: What is one interesting fact about yourself that you’d like to share?
Marble: I’m fluent in French – it’s not a skill I get to use very often at work, but I do find it fun that our parent company, Luminess, is French!
