Senior Account Executive of Higher Education Sales

Location: Remote

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Account Executive, Higher Education Sales, to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will excel in navigating the complexities of selling to colleges and universities, executing strategies to target these institutions effectively, and identifying new opportunities within the higher education and adjacent sectors. This role is pivotal in ensuring the long-term success of our client engagements through strong relationship-building and strategic sales efforts. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Sales and Account Management: 

  • Develop and execute strategies to secure new sales opportunities with colleges and universities, demonstrating a deep understanding of the higher education market. 
  • Proactively prospect new accounts and generate leads through market research, targeted outreach, and networking. 
  • Identify and pursue RFPs and non-RFP opportunities. 
  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with current customers. 
  • Serve as the primary external point of contact for all client-related matters. 
  • Schedule and conduct regular client visits, check-ins, and reviews. 
  • Forecast and track key account metrics to drive sales performance. 
  • Identify and execute strategies to expand business opportunities. 
  • Lead new business pitches and presentations. 
  • Maintain a collaborative environment within the client organization by fostering communication across different teams or departments. 
  • Actively cross-sell Six Red Marbles services where applicable. 
  • Prepare proposals, statements of work, master service agreements, and other contracts, ensuring adherence to Six Red Marbles’ standards and best practices. 

Project Engagement and Communication: 

  • Collaborate with the project team to assist with prioritization, issue escalation, and client communication. 
  • Lead efforts to maintain and grow business relationships with assigned clients. 
  • Promote a strong team culture and open communication within the project team. 
  • Act as a point of escalation for issues related to delivery, change orders, or client relationships that cannot be resolved at the project level. 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Experience prospecting and selling educational services to colleges and universities, with additional experience in virtual high schools and workforce training preferred. 
  • Demonstrated success at achieving sales quotas. 
  • Excellent customer service skills and strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) across all levels, internally and with clients. 
  • Strong customer relationship-building, problem-solving, and negotiation skills in a client-facing environment. 
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously, with a track record of managing large, complex, or challenging clients. 
  • Ability to work effectively under significant deadline pressure. 
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams  
  • Knowledge of the education publishing industry is a must. 
  • Willingness to travel monthly for client visits and/or conferences.
