Sr. Staff Accountant
Location: Remote
Position Overview:
The Sr. Staff Accountant will assist with accounting for client projects and related budgets; assist with monthly preparation of consolidated financial reports in a timely basis to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities; and assist with identifying improvement initiatives to analyze and identify cost savings and efficiencies. Strong financial system and analytical skills are required to provide analysis and cash forecasting and to record entries on a recurring basis in accordance with GAAP.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with financial close, including maintaining supporting schedules and preparing journal entries.
- Correspond with departments to ensure proper accounting for AP, AR, and accruals.
- Oversee purchase order processing and outside cost avoidance.
- Maintain project financial budget setup in system and related project change request.
- Participate in budgeting and forecasting process as needed.
- Assist Accounting Manager with financial tax compliance and various external audits.
- Assist with preparation of draft financial reports for varying levels of management, KPI, trending, graphs, and board of directors package.
- Assist with other duties and projects, as necessary.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years relevant Accounting or Financial experience.
- Knowledge of GAAP compliance, specifically ASC606, ASC842.
- Ability and willingness to drill into operational details.
- Proficient with accounting and reporting systems, SAGE/Intacct experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, advanced Excel skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and effective in working collaboratively cross functionally. Must be a team player with focus on achieving overall team and company goals.
Experience with foreign currency and India-based operations, preferred.
