Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Financial Operations and FP&A or the Senior Accountant, the Junior Staff Accountant is a member of the Company’s Finance and Accounting Organization. This position has no direct reports.

The Junior Staff Accountant provides foundational accounting support by executing standardized accounting tasks under supervision while developing technical skills. This role is responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping tasks necessary to maintain accurate financial records and produce necessary reports for financial analysis.

 

Responsibilities

 
  • Assist with month end close by preparing general ledger entries and balance sheet reconciliations, as directed
  • Assist with preparation of financial statements and special reports and analysis, as directed
  • Assist with financial audits and Annual Tax Filings by providing documentation and assistance to external auditors and tax advisors, as directed
  • Process payroll including generating paychecks and direct deposits, reconciling payroll accounts to ensure accuracy, and identifying and resolving payroll discrepancies
  • Process purchase orders and invoices and track payments due to vendors daily
  • Process invoices and credit memos, track payments due from customers daily, and apply payments received from customers timely and accurately
  • Maintain compliance with all internal controls
  • All other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

 

 

  • Education and Experience: Associate’s degree and/or relevant work experience Required, Bachelor’s degree Preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of Accounting/Finance Experience; Demonstrated understanding of basic accounting principles
